I live in a small Iowa town and am called by many names: wife, mom, teacher, friend. I'm also bipolar, but I don't let that define me. In other words, I'm not bipolar, I just have the disorder. Writing is my way of sharing my heart and experiences with my readers - giving encouragement where and when I can.
Since creating this site in 2010, I have used my website as a platform to address mental health stigma and to create awareness and understanding surrounding mental health issues. Only when we as a nation begin to address the taboo topic of mental health, will the people who need and deserve compassionate care for their condition, emerge from the shadows to find help and healing. As long as there our people with a mental health condition suffering in silence, this nation as a whole will remain mentally unwell. If you believe in shedding light on the stigma, please consider sharing a link to my Pools of Blessing You Tube Channel as a way to halt the spread of misinformation surrounding mental health.
